Hawaii Man Who Killed Wife's Acupuncturist After Finding Out About Their Affair, Sentenced

A Honolulu man has been sentenced to prison over the murder of his wife's acupuncturist with whom she was having an affair. Eric Thompson, 37, was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole. Oahu Circuit Court Judge Paul Wong handed down his judgment on Friday, June 27, over the 2022 shooting death of Waipahu acupuncturist Jon Tokuhara. During his sentence, Thompson must serve a minimum of 15 years, before he is eligible for parole, though the Hawaii Paroling Authority may set a longer term. On Feb. 25, a jury found Thompson guilty of murder in the second degree and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. As previously reported, Thompson fatally shot Tokuhara in his Waipahu acupuncture shop in Jan. 2022, after learning about his wife's affair with Tokuhara about six months before the murder. Thompson's DNA, Car Linked Him to the Murder On Jan. 12, Thompson allegedly walked into Tokuhara Acupuncture and Healthcare at around 6:15 p.m. Investigators said that security cameras showed that Thompson was inside the business for only around 45 seconds, according to the television newsroom. Thompson reportedly fired three shots from a .22-caliber gun during that brief interval, the report indicated. Tokuhara's mother found her son shot to death inside his acupuncture clinic on Jan. 12, 2022. Police reportedly used surveillance video to identify Thompson's truck and linked him to the murder scene. As Thompson made his way back to his car, he dropped his hat, which was later picked up by a homeless man. Police used surveillance video to identify that man and pull samples of hair and fibers from it, ultimately leading to Thompson as the possible killer. Thompson's Wife Had Messaged Tokuhara About Her Fears Over Her Husband Finding Out About Their Affair The police investigation into Tokuhara's death reportedly uncovered Instagram messages between the victim and Thompson's wife in which she expressed fear about Thompson discovering the relationship. It appeared that while Tokuhara may have wanted a long-term relationship, Thompson's wife did not want to leave her husband; in July 2021, she reportedly told Tokuhara that she had to end the relationship and he couldn't contact her anymore. Their last Instagram communication was on July 23, 2021. "As we showed in our case in chief, Thompson was a controlling and violent man who planned this murder because his wife had an affair with Jon," said Prosecuting Attorney Steve Alm. "Hopefully this sentence will provide the family and friends of Jon Tokuhara some closure," Alm said.

Tengr.ai: A privacy-by-design generative AI platform

Generative AI (GenAI) is rapidly reshaping industries from media to medicine, although with concerns around privacy, transparency, data integrity and ethics on the rise. A recent report from Deloitte indicated heightened skepticism with over 78% of users finding it challenging to control the data collected about them. AI image generators like Midjourney, DALL-E or Stable Diffusion raise serious privacy concerns, from using personal photos without consent in training data to unintentionally recreating real faces. They've also been used to create fake identities in online scams. As the technology evolves, experts warn that safeguards, especially for vulnerable groups like children; are lagging behind. Hungary based company aims to tackle that, with its privacy-by-design creativeGenAI platform, which is used by over 500,000 users worldwide. What is is the ethical image generation infrastructure that lets users create without censorship issues or data harvesting designed for creators, businesses, educators and more with a strong emphasis on user privacy and creative freedom. The company employs its proprietary Hyperalign™ technology to balance uncensored creative expression with safety. This allows the generation of diverse content while preventing misuse, such as deepfakes or harmful imagery. "Users retain full ownership of the images they create, enabling them to use their creations for commercial purposes without restrictions," says Péter W. Szabó, CEO and co-founder of How Works Unlike competitors that harvest personal data or impose restrictive licenses, is designed with privacy at its core. It does not collect or store any personal information, and users maintain full commercial rights to all images they create. Its Hyperalign™ technology quietly converts risky prompts into safe, compliant results, avoiding the constant battle of traditional filters while maintaining seamless creative freedom. also recently announced its Quantum 3.0; an upgraded image generation engine which sets a benchmark for prompt fidelity, rendering speed, photorealism, all while retaining the existing infrastructure. "Quantum 3.0 Engine uses advanced diffusion-transformer technology to accurately interpret complex prompts, reducing image revisions by 38% and enhancing fine details like hair and typography," says Peter. The Detailer Upscaler 3.0 claims to boost images up to 8x resolution with lifelike textures, offering "Details Only" and combined upscale modes for crisp prints. Its One-ClickBackground Swap, powered by ScenaNova, claims to isolate subjects and create custom backdrops. Why privacy and personal data is important "AI image generators are raising serious privacy concerns," says Peter. From models unintentionally recreating real people's faces to fake profiles used in scams, these tools can misuse personal data in harmful ways. Lawsuits like Getty Images vs. Stability AI highlights the unauthorised use of private photos in training data. Protecting personal data isn't just about compliance, it's about respecting individual rights and preventing real-world harm and to be ethical in an increasingly digital world. introduction into Web3 Brands like Jack Wolfskin and Tesa SE are already using for product visualisation, while the company's architectural partner Zindak AI uses the platform to turn sketches and CAD renders to photorealistic imagery. is also introducing its native $TENGR utility token into its platform to enhance user engagement and expand its ecosystem. Earlier this year, completed an equity funding round aimed at developing and launching its $TENGR utility token, integrating blockchain tech into its platform. Through Web3 initiatives and a utility token, the platform aims to empower and monetise its community in a more collaborative way, ensuring that no personal data is collected or stored, and users retain full commercial rights to every image they generate with ethical solution.

Son of Norway's Crown Princess Charged with Raping, Sexually Assaulting Victims in 'Double-Digits'

Oslo police have formally charged Marius Borg Høiby, the eldest son of Norway's Crown Princess Mette-Marit, with multiple serious offenses, including rape, sexual assault, and bodily harm. The charges follow an extensive months-long investigation involving a "double-digit" number of alleged victims. Høiby, 28, the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit and stepson of the heir to the throne, Crown Prince Haakon, has been under scrutiny since he was repeatedly arrested in 2024 amid allegations of rape and on preliminary charges of bodily harm and criminal damage. At a press conference on Friday, Oslo police attorney Andreas Kruszewski stated that Høiby had been cooperative throughout police interrogations, which have now concluded. Evidence in the case includes text messages, witness statements, and materials gathered during police searches. The charges laid out against Høiby include one count of rape involving intercourse, two counts of rape without intercourse, four counts of sexual assault, and two counts of bodily harm. Kruszewski declined to provide an exact number of victims but confirmed it was in the double digits. Høiby's defense attorney, Petar Sekulic, told the Associated Press in an email that his client is "absolutely taking the accusations very seriously" but "doesn't acknowledge any wrongdoing in most of the cases – especially the cases regarding sexual abuse and violence." The Norwegian Royal Palace has not yet issued a public comment in response to the charges. Høiby, who formerly resided with the royal couple and their two children, now lives in a separate residence nearby. He remains free while awaiting a possible trial and continues to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
